When
I was studying culinary arts in college my sister got engaged.
She asked me to make her wedding cake for her. I was honored.
For someone to have that much trust in me to create the one
item, other than the bride and groom, that would get much attention
on that special night, I was a little nervous, but very excited.
It was a great “first” for me. To be honest, it didn’t come
out quite like she wanted, but it was my first wedding cake,
after all.
Since then, I’ve made a few more wedding cakes, getting more
experience with each endeavor. I’ve even done one for my own
wedding. Soon, I’ll be doing one for my best friend’s wedding.
They say that the more you practice the better you get, and
I’d have to agree that this is true. So, thanks Chels, for getting
the ball rolling.
