The earliest memory I have of decorating pastries would be all the way back in elementary school. That was when the parents would send their kids to school with treats on special occasions. Some kids would bring mochi on Girl’s Day, while others brought frosted cupcakes on their birthdays. Since I started taking a liking to art at the age of 3, I couldn’t resist getting my fingers into the project. I remember decorating tiny little cupcakes for Christmas; piping out holly berries and wreaths in icing. I got so much praise for my hard work. I think that’s where it all began.
